Sketchbook

Welcome to the madness and utter absurdity of my sketchbook! 

This is a place where i can concoct strange and twisted splendors only to vomit it all out on to paper. It is a place where i can let my self go, and allow my thoughts to do the talking.

Vampire bite (as referenced by twilight), using water colour. You cant see the bruising too well, but i assure you, it looked a lot better in real life! i didn't want to wash it off. 

So this is a page of studies on skeletons, predators and dragon/dinosaur things. some of the better ones at the top are copied from other artists, so i had a reference to study from. these drawings were mostly done in pen, so there was no room for error, this gives a shifty, almost sketchy look.

This page looks more in to the design of dragons, how i have tried to draw the skull, texture of skin and intricate details of the eye.

This is a brain storm, i would leave my sketchbook open at the page and write down everything that went through my head. Even the strangest of thoughts have been immortalized in pen and paper. This particular page seems to be themed around war and battle, i think i was reading the hunger games at the time...

This brain storm is a bit more disturbing. though it contains many of my comforts, such as vampire-ism, dragon mutants and sheep, it also contains a lot of slut hate. i think this originally stemmed from me talking to myself, but it went through my head, so it goes on the page!

This one is a bit more positive, definitely some hunger games in there, and spider man apparently. I would like to draw attention to the dragon body in the left hand corner, this went so well, (especially the tail) but the angling was so difficult i couldn't finish it! 

This is my fist brain storm, so there is no real theme. These brain storms are so useful for designing other illustrations, for example, the 'down the rabbit hole' illustration became the back cover for my school planner.

Ok, moving into my older works, these are water color paint splats, i was playing with the idea of working back into them to create blurred designs.

These are some practices for my final piece in year 9, I focused on rats as this was my weak point. I drew the same rats over and over again, to become accustomed to the shape. I also used trial and error in layering the pencil marks to create the illusion of fur. 

Wow, some really old stuff now! These are some super-natural horses, including a phoenix horse, which can apparently break its own neck...
